Dr. Mark Packer is a board-certified ophthalmologist and serves as Medical Monitor for Refocus Group. Dr. Packer is active in research, education, and clinical investigation for advancements and new technologies in ophthalmology.
Dr. Packer earned his Medical Degree from the University of California, Davis and went on to complete an internal medicine residency at the University of California, San Francisco and his ophthalmology residency at Boston University School of Medicine. Throughout his career, he has published more than 100 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals and worked as an editor for several textbooks on refractive and cataract surgery. His professional experience also includes extensive research in innovative technologies, such as multifocal lenses for refractive lens exchange and intraoperative wavefront measurement. Dr. Packer has also served as Clinical Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Oregon Health & Sciences University and the Chairman of the Cataract Clinical Committee of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
